King is a Fink TV presents a collection of videos by the independent filmmaking & screenwriting duo Julie Keck and Jessica King, including their original short films, trailers, and personal interviews. The duo describe themselves as the perfect mix of the two great Catherines: Breillat & O’Hara. Fat Girl meets SCTV, anyone?

Julie Keck and Jessica King have been creating movies together for almost ten years. In 2001, one of their first films (Girl Rods) was screened at the Women in the Director’s Chair Film Festival in Chicago, IL. Instead of relying on grand special effects, Julie and Jessica focus on creating original scripts, emotionally complex situations, and intriguing characters. The short films they make have extremely low-budgets.

In addition to producing short films, the duo write short and feature-length screenplays meant to be produced on a larger scale with bigger budgets. Their primary goal: to tell stories that are at once familiar, uncomfortable, demented, and exhilarating. In this vein, the ladies are currently writing a feature-length thriller and also plan to adapt a naughty memoir.
